Barbera d'Alba DOC
Tasting: The classic scent of red fruits given by the Barbera grape to the wine is amplified and enriched with spicy notes thanks to its passage in wood. The wine is full-bodied and with a good and balanced acidity.

The Vineyards
The variety of soils that compose the vineyard from which our Barbera d’Alba Superiore comes from, is the reason of its quality. In fact, at a small distance from each other, we find: a dark, evolved soil with a purely clayey texture, flanked by outcrops of Marne di Sant’Agata fossils “with sands” that gradually flows into the Cassinasco Formation (former Formation of Lequio) which forms a young soil, more sandy and “mineral”. In these areas, the vine growth is stressful, giving the grapes greater extract and phenolic maturity. In other parts the soil is rich in organic matter, this gives it a greyish appearance and stimulates greater vigor in the plant, with a particular development of acidity in the grape. In this context, the climatic factor is equally important: we are at 410m, on the ridge of hills that unite Diano d’Alba and Montelupo Albese, facing WSW with constant ventilation in summer and good temperature ranges in autumn. The best expression of Barbera is developed under these conditions, giving us small bunches and therefore a low yield per hectare.
